Convocatoria 2025-2026: Ayudas de Investigación y Ayuda para Dramaturgia de la Fundación María Zambrano
The María Zambrano Foundation announces three Research Grants (for students working on a doctoral dissertation or master’s thesis on the life and work of María Zambrano during the 2025-2026 academic year) and one Playwriting Grant, aimed at creating a stage piece inspired by the philosopher’s thought. With this initiative, we seek to foster academic research and artistic creation that engage with the ideas of María Zambrano, building bridges between philosophy, society, and the performing arts.
What is offered
- 10-day stay in Vélez-Málaga for research or creative development.
- The Foundation covers travel and accommodation expenses, and the beneficiary receives €600 for living expenses.
- The four grants are financed with a total credit of €6,000 from the Foundation’s budget.
Who can apply
- Research Grants (Thesis/Master’s Thesis): Students with officially registered theses or Master’s theses that have not yet been defended at national or international universities are eligible to apply. Applicants must have completed university studies within the last five years. Those who have received this grant in previous calls for applications are not eligible.
- Dramaturgy Support: creators of performing arts (theater, dance, circus, performance, etc.) whose project is inspired by the thought and work of María Zambrano and addresses current issues and fundamental questions of the human being.
Deadlines and procedure
- Application deadline: December 31, 2025.
- Jury decision: second half of January 2026 (will be communicated individually and published on the Foundation’s website).
- The payment of the grants will be made effective within one month from the notification of the date of the stay and research and the bank account.
Required documentation
- For Theses/Master’s Thesis:
- Official application form.
- Curriculum vitae.
- Thesis project approved by the management, or duly registered TFM project.
- Bank details.
- For Dramaturgy:
- Official application form.
- CV with experience in dramaturgy/performing arts and creative projects linked to philosophical or social reflection.
- Project dossier (genre/discipline, synopsis, objectives, work plan during the stay) and, where applicable, letters of recommendation.

Criteria and obligations
- A jury appointed by the Foundation will evaluate the proposals. The jury may declare the competition void.
- Recipients must use the grant for their stay and research at the Foundation during 2026 and meet the established requirements. If the thesis/Master’s thesis/screenplay is published, the grant from the María Zambrano Foundation must be acknowledged.
- Scholarships are incompatible with other aid from private entities (compatible with Collaboration Scholarships, Erasmus and similar).
